What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate position at Roger?
About Roger
Our Goals:
- Our long-term vision is to become the McKinsey of the commercial construction industry – a top-tier team using cutting-edge technology and AI to solve complex challenges on the industry’s most impactful projects.
- We come onto projects as consultants (and often get paid as project subcontractors!)
- Our consultants work with A.I. to finish time-consuming, risky tasks better and twice as fast as an unassisted human
What We Do Now:
- Problem: subcontract writing is time-consuming, error-prone, tremendously risky, and miserable. Scope gaps based on bad subcontracts cost GCs 20% of their profit.
- Solution: we ingest contract drawing sets to write insanely high quality scopes of work on an equally insanely tight turnaround.
- We hold ourselves to exacting standards – while our A.I. does a lot of the work, the average project still requires 50 hours of human work to turn over.
- We are growing faster than we can manage – demand is overwhelming.
The Near Future:
- In Q1, we’re planning on buying out:
- A $250M Subway Station
- A $200M Wastewater Plant
- A $50M Multifamily Development
- many more buildings, T.I.s, and more across sectors like healthcare, religious, and consumer
Our Culture:
- Small, elite team → hope to always stay lean and excellent. Team of 4 right now.
- Hard work → 50-60 hrs work/week.
- Doers, not talkers → nobody is a manager. Everybody “does the work”
- Project success at (almost) any cost → we do not let our customers down on projects.
- Acceptable work-life balance → if you burn the midnight oil getting a project done, take a short day afterward to make up for it.
- Kindness → Our expectations are high, and we are honest when it comes to outcomes and evaluation. But we don’t tolerate people who treat each other poorly, and work does not get in the way of kindness.
