ROGERCO, Inc. (RCI) is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Staff Writer (External) with news writing and editing experience to join a team supporting a Navy contract in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will provide writing and editorial support for articles, brochures, press releases and more while working under strict deadlines. A minimum of four (4) years of experience with corporate communications required. This is an in-person position located in Washington, DC and requires a Secret security clearance. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Write and edit news articles and other editorial products for a wide range of audiences, including Congress, Department of Defense (DOD), industry stakeholders and the general public
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other team members to ensure accuracy of information included in written products
Follow Navy and Associated Press stylebooks
Qualifications
Location: Washington, DC
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of corporate communications experience, either in a civilian or military setting
Education: Bachelor's degree in English, communications or a related field
Clearance: Active DOD Secret Security Clearance
Knowledge of Congress, DOD, the Navy and NAVSEA preferred
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to convey complex ideas in concise, logical ways for consumption by a variety of audiences
Strong time-management skills and the ability to handle small and large-scale projects under strict timelines
Experience working with style guides, such as the Associated Press stylebook, preferred
