Job Summary
This role involves serving as a team leader in our patient care model, which emphasizes a multi-faceted treatment team approach. Physicians will have the opportunity to work in live and virtual environments, support patient admissions, protocol development, quality assurance, and peer review evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Attend patients and provide coverage at assigned locations, including multiple locations, levels of care, or virtual services within the scope of licensure.
- Participate in team and unit meetings, collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and oversee medical residents and fellows during educational rotations.
- Serve as an attending physician for assigned units, complete emergency detentions, and provide medication education to nursing staff.
- Review denials of service, interface with referring parties, and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Identify new program development opportunities, participate in community education, and provide initial placement recommendations based on admitting criteria and clinical parameters.
Requirements
- Licensure: MD or DO with specialization in psychiatry in the state of Wisconsin.
- Board-eligible physician with graduate degree from an accredited college or university and medical school.
- Two years or more experience working in a psychiatric hospital or clinic, with additional residency required for child and adolescent patients.
- Registered with Medicare as a community provider or able to be registered.
- Leadership and/or supervisory experience in a behavioral health organization preferred.
