Roger & Company s is seeking Staff Auditors to join our growing nonprofit audit practice. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced auditors seeking a challenging and rewarding environment. Staff Auditors participate on multiple engagement teams providing services to nonprofit clients covering financial statement audits, as well as Uniform Guidance audits, reviews, agreed-upon procedures, and other attest services. Staff Auditors work closely with both Senior Associates and Managers in conducting and finalizing audits. Responsibilities and qualifications would include:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the readiness for audit fieldwork by organizing client document requests and participating in planning meetings with the engagement team.
- Conducts audit testing in various areas such as cash, investments, property and equipment, prepaids, accounts payable, accruals and deferrals, revenue and expenses, and controls testing of key transaction cycles.
- Assists in the preparation or completion of relevant audit programs.
- Contributes to the preparation of financial statements and related footnote disclosures, and the schedule of federal expenditures and related Uniform Guidance reports.
- Supports the Senior Associates and Managers in composing client correspondence, management and board letters, and technical research.
- Collaborates with the Senior Associates and Managers post-fieldwork to address any remaining client needs, close out the audit, issue financials, and lock down files.
- Develops and maintains positive client relationships, including timely communication.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications):
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 0 to 3 years of auditing experience in public accounting, preferably with some exposure to nonprofit organizations.
- Certified Public Accountant or CPA candidate.
- Fundamental understanding of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and general accounting rules and regulations.
- Exceptional proficiency in maintaining organized documentation and strong analytical capabilities.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, time management, and communication abilities.
- Skillful in fostering and sustaining client relationships through teamwork.
- Proficient in MS Office applications with solid technology skills.
This opportunity is located in our Tysons Corner, VA office, as a hybrid position requiring in-office or client site work three days per week, and remote work the remaining days.
