Position Profile
The Purchasing Deputy is responsible for reviewing encumbered requisitions, invoicing Purchase Orders (POs), preparing POs for payment via payment packets in Tyler software, generating and issuing warrants for vendors. Interface with purchasing staff from all departments of Rogers County.
Qualifications
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and employment background screen.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma/GED required. One (1) year related experience in a computerized accounting environment preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review encumbered requisitions for compliance with purchasing requirements
- Invoice Purchase Orders
- Prepare Purchase Orders for payment
- Generate warrants for vendor payments
- Interface with purchasing staff from all Rogers County departments
- Answer phones
- Scan, file and complete various other clerical tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office products
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with others in a time sensitive environment.
- Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Communicate well both verbally and in writing and exhibit a willingness and ability to learn computer operations on a variety of different systems.
- React quickly and calmly to emergency situations.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with other upper management, supervisory staff, employees, and the general public.
- Work well alone or within a team.
- Exercise sound judgment and solicit assistance for decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job duties and responsibilities.
