We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Service Writer/Parts Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our repair service company by checking in customer equipment, communicating repair needs, tracking repair progress, managing parts inventory, assisting technicians with parts requests, and ensuring that all parts are accurately documented and accounted for. This position requires an understanding of equipment components and excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with both technicians and customers.
Responsibilities
- Check in the equipment and communicate with the customer about issues and needed repairs.
- Create, maintain and complete customer repair orders.
- Assist service technicians in identifying and sourcing required parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain organized records of parts orders, receipts, and returns.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries regarding repairs, parts availability and pricing.
- Upsell additional products or services based on customer needs and technician recommendations.
- Collaborate with the service technicians to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of vehicle repairs.
- Perform basic diagnostics to assist in identifying parts needs when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an equipment service environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members professionally.
- Attention to detail, strong computer and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with service writing processes is a plus.

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
