Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients across various age groups, with a focus on promoting health and wellness. As an FNP, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, while also emphasizing preventive care and patient education.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical exams, and diagnostic testing, specifically for foot and ankle conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, MRIs, and other relevant tests.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients undergoing foot and ankle surgery.
- Monitor patient progress and develop individualized treatment plans for chronic and acute foot and ankle conditions.
- Educate patients on treatment options, surgical procedures, preventive care, and rehabilitation techniques for foot and ankle disorders.
- Advise patients on lifestyle modifications, such as footwear recommendations, exercise, and weight management to support overall foot and ankle health.
- Counsel patients regarding pain management and rehabilitation post-surgery.
- Collaborate with podiatric surgeons, physical therapists, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient care strategies, surgical outcomes, and ongoing treatment plans.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to clinical staff as needed, fostering a positive work environment.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
- Ensure all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and surgical notes are documented thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Stay current with medical guidelines and best practices for foot and ankle care and surgery.
- Assess and treat surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and other foot-related injuries or wounds.
- Perform advanced wound care techniques such as debridement, dressing applications, and use of wound healing agents.
- Monitor wound healing progress, identifying and managing complications such as infection, delayed healing, or abnormal scarring.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans for patients with chronic or complex wounds, ensuring appropriate care protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on wound care best practices and prevention strategies to improve healing outcomes.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by a recognized certifying body.
- Valid state nursing license with prescriptive authority and DEA authority.
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing or related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency in systems related to electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong skills in infancy to elderly patient populations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
