Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking an Asphalt Paving Hourly Lead person in the Southern Middle Tennessee area reporting to the Paving Foreman. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

- Location: Southern Middle TN area (Springhill, TN; Columbia, TN; Lawrenceburg, TN)
- Day Shift – Some Night Shift and Weekend Work may be required, depending on the job
- Overtime available along with extensive medical and retirement benefits
- Wages start at $28.00hr, starting wage based on experience
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide planning, supervision and documentation for asphalt paving operations. Responsibilities will also include training personnel in setting of paving machine operation, heavy equipment operation, and other tasks involved in paving operations.
- Responsible for overseeing, coaching and modeling safety procedures and policies at all times.
- Provides leadership and is responsible for safety, scheduling, workforce planning, coordinating, supervising and assisting with cost control; ensuring the consistent and fair application of all SSC policies and procedures.
- Directly supervises and coordinates the activities of field employees in site, road, and subdivision roadway construction and resurfacing.
- Identifies, verifies, and reports any scheduling conflicts, needs, or deficiencies with other crews and subcontractors to the appropriate persons when applicable.
- Supervise all company equipment and vehicle use; ensure all maintenance procedures are being followed. This is to include daily pre ops on all equipment. Troubleshot equipment issues and work with mechanics and vendors to provide economical solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-6 Years experience as a paving machine and screed operator required
- Knowledge of paving operations. Ability to setup paving equipment and job site for milling operations required.
- Inspects work site to determine sequencing and method of utility installation and survey for potential hazards or safety concerns.
- Knowledge of sediment control devices, erosion regulations, and installation methods.
- Identifies, verifies, and reports any scheduling conflicts, needs, or deficiencies with other crews and subcontractors to the appropriate persons when applicable.
- Understands and communicates safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety, while identifying the needs for crew safety training. Also responsible for daily safety meetings with topics applicable to the jobsite. Also completes a JSA for tasks dependent on the specific task and severity of potential damage or injury.
- Assesses competency and capability of employees on the project and evaluates the capabilities of the crew members. Recognizes and addresses issue/problems that may arise among crew members and provides effective resolutions and guidance.
- Valid Driver’s License required, with clean Motor Vehicle Report.
