Job Description

Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates for a FINISH GRADE TRACKHOE OPERATOR position with our Northern Middle TN Construction team, located in Gallatin, TN. This role will work with our grading and site-prep crew doing utility work and larger scale earth-moving projects.

The successful candidate for this position will be a finish grade trackhoe operator, and they must have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate a Trackhoe to complete all required operation tasks.
• Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.
• Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
• Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience as a trackhoe finish grade operator is required.
• Read and understand grade and maintaining grade.
• Ability to utilize GPS for grading applications – preferred.
• Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction equipment is preferred.
• Effective communication skills applicable to position.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• Distinguish and understand signals.
• Use both hands and feet at the same time.
• Work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection.
• Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment.
• Able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment.
• Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 70 pounds.
• Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment.
• Must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work.
• Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement.
• Must be Drug Free and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and possess a Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
