Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking a Field Technician / Mechanic II/III in the Huntsville, AL / North Alabama operations area, Alabama SMA reporting to the Shop/Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Job Details
- Wages start at $25/hr for entry level/limited experience
- Starting wage will be Higher based on verifiable experience for Higher Skill Level Technicians
- Fulltime/Permanent
- Day Shift
- Weekend work may be required
- Overtime available along with extensive medical and retirement benefits
- Perform repairs on heavy trucks, heavy equipment and asphalt equipment.
- Trouble shoot and diagnose a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brakes, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating and cooling, and electrical systems.
- Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
- Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
- Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
- Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
- Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment.
- Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
- Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.
- Minimum of three years of experience working on construction equipment and on-road trucks.
- Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
- Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections preferred
- Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
- Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet
- Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
