Day Shift: 5:30 am – 3:30 pm
The starting wage for this position is $23.61. Overall compensation will be determined based on the chosen candidate’s experience and skill set.
Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates for a Hydraulic Shovel Operator that will work on our stripping ledge. We are looking for candidates familiar with operating a hydraulic shovel, crane, Gradalls, or similar rotating, boom-type excavating and hoisting equipment.
The successful candidate for this position will be an experienced hydraulic shovel operator or relevant heavy equipment experience, and they must have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Responsibilities and requirements of the position include but are not limited to:
- Operate a hydraulic shovel and other heavy equipment – such as a dozer, haul truck, roller, or skid steer to complete utility and grading work.
- Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.
- Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
- Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Effective communication skills applicable to position.
- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years of experience operating a hydraulic shovel, crane, Gradalls, or similar rotating, boom-type excavating and hoisting equipment.
- Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
- Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
- Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction equipment is preferred.
