Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance / Quarry Operations position (Workforce Development Program) in the Huntsville, AL / North Alabama operations area, Alabama SMA reporting to the Area Production Manager and assigned Plant Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

- Wages start at $22.00hr, Starting wage based on experience.
- Fulltime / Permanent
- Night Shift & Day Shift Operations
- Weekend work may be required

Job Responsibilities :
Mechanical aptitude / ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed.Previous fixed plant maintenance or related industry experience is required.Experience working with crushers, conveyors, and screens is required.Experience in fabricating, cutting, and welding is required.Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.Self-motivated and able to work independently, without close supervision.Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.Must be flexible on working hours and locations with the ability to adapt to different work environments.General plant / mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operationsBeing trained in various other entry level production positions and fill in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand timesReport equipment problems and identify them to managementLight maintenance work and maintain the belt linesComplete equipment pre-shift report - if applicableAssist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by managementProperly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.Qualifications :
Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environmentAbility to maintain safe working conditionsSelf-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervisionAble to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and otherComplete an accredited Certification Course for heavy equipment (Dozer, Excavator, or Skid Steer)Individual must be dedicated to working safely at all timesAbility to learn GPS controlFlexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessaryTeam playerValid driver's licenseAdditional :Distinguish and understand signals.Ability to learn to read and understand grade stakes.Use both hands and feet at the same time.Work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection.Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment.Able to use mechanic's hand tools and tape measure.Able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment.Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds.Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment.Must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work.Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement.Must be Drug Free and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and possess a Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.Rogers Group provides extensive benefits, strong compensation, and a safe, drug-free working environment.
35-hour Weather Guarantee after 30 days of employment, must be available to work 6 days during the seven-day work period. Hours guaranteed, up to 35 hours (example : worked 20hrs, Actual Pay 35hrs; worked 38hrs, Actual Pay 38hrs). Weather pay is accrued on weekly accumulation, not hours per day. Holiday pay counts toward the 35-hour guarantee.
