Rogers Group is currently seeking an experienced individual to fill a position as a HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC for our Gallatin Quarry, located in Gallatin, TN . The position will be assigned work out of the Gallatin Quarry, and service a variety of mining and quarry equipment – including specialty equipment utilized in the underground mining process, such as drills, bolters, scalers.

- Wages starting at $26.00 / hr. Higher starting pay for experienced and certified mechanics - depending on experience level.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This role requires significant previous experience as a mechanic working on heavy equipment.The role will be responsible for performing repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of mining and quarry equipment and trucks.The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating / cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry.QUALIFICATIONS
Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.Minimum of three year of experience working on heavy equipment.Perform heavy or major maintenance repairs as needed.Perform routine scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks.Complete maintenance and work order repair records.Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.Ability to operate mobile equipment.Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.Weekend work / overtime may be required.Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist, and lift 70lbs.Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet.Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.Rogers Group provides extensive benefits, strong compensation, and a safe, drug-free working environment.
