RLF is currently seeking a temporary full-time Interior Design Summer Intern to report directly to our Discipline Director of Interior Design. The Summer Intern will have an opportunity to assist the Interior Design team throughout all phases of design in associated client project work.
Our student interns collaborate with Interior Design, Architecture, Design, and Project Management teams during all phases of the design delivery process and perform basic interior design assignments. The student intern will provide support to the interior design team in generating quality documents that will be used for design, permitting, bidding and construction and perform a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard interior design techniques for small projects or selected segments of a larger project.
Responsibilities :
- Assists in producing working drawings from schematic through construction documents, under the supervision of project lead.
- Contributes to creating, presentation preparation, and specifying material and finish selections to meet client requirements on time and within budget under the supervision of project lead.
- Applies interior design factors such as layout and use of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination to project tasks.
- Researches the use of new materials, technologies, and products to incorporate into designs.
- Uses Revit to help produce construction documents and visualization renderings.
- Orders material samples and assemble presentation boards and project binders for project submittals.
- Manages product library per specifications and solicits sales representatives to add products to library when needed.
- Participate in team charettes, either virtually or at the project site, to understand the client's interior environments.
- Other duties as assigned.
