Job Summary:

The Aftermarket Manager is responsible for ensuring that all customers are provided with prompt, high quality service coordination and parts. Performs and supervises work order creation and parts sales, then processes orders for internal and external customers with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and thoughtfulness. Assists and advises customers on how to best meet their needs, often dealing with questions and problems of a technical nature. Responsible for training Service Administrators and Parts Associates and maintaining a team with a thorough knowledge of products, performance standards, warranties, sales programs, and operating policies. Organizes and prioritizes multiple requests daily and explores alternate options as required by customer needs. Provides service to external and internal customers through phone, email, and in-person requests. Responsible for a full account of inventory and transactions.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Apply the current strategy and develop new concepts to boost sales of aftermarket parts, factory services, repairs, and advanced services.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to customers regarding service planning, maintenance best practices, parts inventory management, equipment efficiency, breakdowns, and business needs.
  • Supervise the accurate creation and processing of work orders and service quotes to balance customer and business needs.
  • Promote and facilitate communication and cooperation between the Service Administrators and Parts Associates to ensure field services are effective and efficient.
  • Collaboration with the Service Manager and Service Technicians daily.
  • Monitor work order processing for timeliness and cost effectiveness, adjusting procedures when required.
  • Set and communicate priorities and time management requirements to the team to uphold a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with vendors to generate procurement options and maximize customer satisfaction while following sound business practices.
  • Contribute to the regional market development strategy and explore new business opportunities.
  • Oversee the parts inventory, ensuring that stock levels are maintained to meet the demand for repairs, replacements, and production needs based on trend forecasting.
  • Supervise regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy in the parts database.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of customer service staff, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop training programs for new employees and provide ongoing training to improve the efficiency and skills of the team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and offer constructive feedback to improve team performance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, such as bulk purchasing or vendor negotiations, without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within the branch, such as streamlining order fulfillment, reducing lead times, or improving inventory tracking.
  • Process internal and external orders, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping for all transactions.
  • Provide reciprocal leadership coverage for the Service Manager or Sales Manager on an as-needed basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a direct supervisory role.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in service, parts management, or a related role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial equipment industry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of the industrial machinery or air compressor industry is a plus.
  • Experience with vendor negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other inventory management tools.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or other efficiency-based systems is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Capable of lifting and moving parts and boxes of up to 25 pounds.
  • Long periods of time standing or sitting at a desk/computer.
  • Ability to climb, crawl, reach, lean and move in a warehouse environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
