Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including labor, real estate, immigration, intellectual property, and etc. This role requires an individual who can effectively navigate complex legal issues while providing sound legal advice to the organization. The Corporate Counsel will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as supporting the company's strategic objectives.
Essential Job Duties:
· Drafts and negotiates contractual agreements, such as real estate leases and advising on employment matters.
· Expert in contract reviews. Ability to spot issues and risks in contracts.
· Oversees compliance outside of healthcare.
· Manages intellectual property and copyrights.
· Manages risk management and insurance (liability, property), partner with Controller.
· Develops the organization's policies on industry-specific issues or regulatory affairs.
· Trusted advisor to the business.
· Assists business to develop and implement processes, procedures, and systems to promote risk avoidance and prevent litigation.
· Coordinates with outside counsel to assure they represent the company’s best interest.
Additional Job Duties:
· Works closely with other departments within the company on various issues
· Industry lobbyist/advocate
Qualifications:
· Bachelor and Juris Doctorate (JD) degrees (engineering degree preferred)
· Admitted to Oregon or Washington State Bar
· Membership in good standing of State Bar
· 5-7 years of legal experience (preferably in trial and/or litigation)
Preferred Skills:
· Excellent communication (written and verbal)
· Collaborative with leaders and teams
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
