What are the responsibilities and job description for the HEAD CUSTODIAN position at Rogers Middle School?
ANTICIPATED START DATE: Immediately Upon Hire
DETAILS: A 12-month support staff position, on a 261 day calendar for 2024-25, with district-recognized holidays and paid sick and personal leave. This is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a district provided benefits package that includes employee health, dental, life and vision insurance.
LOCATION: Rogers Middle School
COMPENSATION: According to the Support Staff Pay Schedule within the Head Custodian range. The pay range for this position begins at $16.84-$19.85 per hour. Placement within the range on the Support Staff Pay Schedule is determined by like experience.
JOB SUMMARY: Assist in the efficient operation of the Buildings and Grounds Department to project a positive image of the Affton School District while supporting an appropriate physical environment. Responsible for overall cleanliness, sanitation, security and safety of assigned location and area within the district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Two (2) or more years of custodial experience.
- Exceptional attendance record.
- Valid Missouri driver’s license is required.
- Transportation to assist in various buildings within the district.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior custodial supervisor experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in an educational setting.
- Requires the ability to perform essential functions of the position.
- Requires the ability to safely operate all custodial equipment.
- Requires the ability to be dependable and punctual.
- Requires willingness to complete job-related training through professional development.
- Travel and/or transport of equipment, materials, and tools between district facilities as appropriate.
- Requires the ability to work independently and on a team, use good judgment, think quickly and rationally, solve problems, and respond to situations in a calm, caring manner.
- Requires the ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment.
- Requires the ability to develop effective working relationships with students and the school community.
- Requires the ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population.
