OVERVIEW
The Collision Repair Estimator is responsible for the processing of vehicle repairs through assisting customers, insurance adjusters and other sources to assure an adequate sales volume and maintaining certain customer satisfaction standards while controlling expenses. The Collision Repair Estimator will direct the scheduling of repairs, meet time schedule and productivity levels, and maintain quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
- Understanding basic parameters of collision repair as well as insurance programs (DRP and non-DRP).
- Reviewing damaged vehicles with customers and insurance adjusters, writing accurate estimates, taking required photos for insurance submission and electronic filing, negotiating initial and supplemental repairs with insurance company.
- Managing multiple repairs simultaneously.
- Work with technicians to complete a thorough estimate.
- Create accurate estimates that detail repair and labor costs.
- Communicating frequently with technicians and parts associates to ensure timely completion of work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must have knowledge of collision repair process, including knowledge of insurance procedures and requirements.
- Two years of experience with CCC estimating.
- Working knowledge of vehicle parts and ability to identify then by locations.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Must possess excellent communications skills, be organized and detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- I-CAR Experience is preferred.
- Dealertrack DMS knowledge helpful.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Collision Repair Estimator will primarily work at a desk which is enclosed in the body shop garage. They will be exposed to noise, vibration, paint, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
