Rogers-O'Brien is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Controller to support the Controller in managing all accounting functions and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, driving efficiencies, and contributing to the financial health of the company. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial best practices-especially within the construction industry.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee Accounts Receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage Viewpoint software, including system coordination and interface management.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving strategies and revenue-enhancing opportunities.
- Lead and mentor accounting team members, fostering professional development.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and manage timely tax payments.
- Prepare and review monthly job cost entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee treasury management and cash flow optimization.
- Supervise payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support audit preparation, research financial discrepancies, and resolve issues.
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules for accurate reporting.
- Lead the monthly closing process for A / P, A / R, job cost, and general ledger.
- Work with Procore to enhance financial tracking and project reporting.
- Assist the Controller in the management of the accounting department and operational improvements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
