A Field Team Supervisor manages and assists the field crew in moving, packing, wrapping, inventory and transport of household goods for residential & commercial customers. They represent the company in a professional manner while ensuring a positive customer experience. The job involves strategic planning when moving furniture, performing inside delivery for customers, and loading and unloading trucks or vans. The Team Supervisor acts as the leader while also assisting the crew in moving a wide variety of heavy materials and supplies.

Team Supervisors deal with daily logistics such as driving to customers’ locations, helping the team and the customer from A to Z as well as managing your vehicle, time sheets and expenses.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Leadership skills required.
  • MUST pass background check.
  • MUST be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • MUST have a valid driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Use map app for driving directions to customer locations. Pick up moving trucks with time to arrive at customers on schedule while maintaining rules of the road.

· Drive a 16-foot diesel moving truck, refuel with diesel fuel only using a business gas card.

· Park trucks as close as possible to the movers' access point at customer home without interfering with laws, rules, and other citizens.

· Perform introductions of team with customers.

· After introductions, perform an initial walk-through of customers home to discuss move plans with customers. Also, to document by photo pre-existing damage to items to be moved and pre-existing damage to buildings in move.

· Photo pre-existing damage and/or damage occurring during move.

· Contact the office immediately if an item to be moved is too delicate, damaged, large, heavy to move or when damage occurs during move. Take photos of damage and text the office.

· Prepare home to move base items of load first and prepare the back of the truck for safe, proper loading techniques. Create out of the way space to stage smaller lighter items & boxes. Load base into truck first while stacking smaller lighter items & boxes on top of base.

· When an elevator is being used, retrieve instructions on how to keep the elevator on the floor with movers and on keeping the door of the elevator open while loading & unloading the elevator. When the elevator cannot be kept with movers, stage items at the elevator safely without interfering with laws, rules, and other citizens.

· Lift & move furniture within customer home safely and move to the back of the truck using a flat dolly and hand truck. Use shrink wrap, furniture pads, straps where and when required for safe moving practices whether transporting items within a building or integrating items into load in the rear of a truck.

· Disassemble and reassemble items during the move.

· Load back of the truck safely and tightly using a truck ramp, straps, furniture pads, shrink wrap, stretch plastic. Use tier technique, proper lifting and moving techniques: basically, heaviest first at bottom (base) graduating upward to lightest and smallest at top. Secure items to prevent shifting during driving and during unload.

· Safely handle and integrate delicate items, boxes, mirrors, art, chairs, lamps etc. into the load.

· Provide customer service during the move.

· Unload truck into home, all responsibilities during loading above apply during unload.

· Maintain dialogue with customer & move team members during move.

· Place furniture and boxes inside the home according to customer expectations and respond to customer requests and questions.

· Once the truck is unloaded, perform a final walk-through home with the customer. Assure customer placement of items is correct & there is no damage. Finalize move with customer with the understanding labor part of move is ending and payment is due.

· Bill customer, assist customer with payment and confirm with office that payment is received via text message.

SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM HOUSEHOLD MOVE:

· Use hand truck and flat 4-wheel dolly while negotiating doorways, thresholds, incline and decline of ramp

· Lift 50 pounds at a distance, sometimes walking backwards downstairs. Holding furniture at angles while negotiating door frames, stairs or placing into truck load

· Lift 30 pounds sometimes overhead sometimes on stairs or at distance, place items into elevator or add to truck load safe & securely

· Use electric drill, hand tools, disassemble and reassemble furniture

· Maintain & clean back of truck. Collect together dollies, fold furniture pads, hang straps. collect all hardware: screws, bolts, washers, hand tools, drill, drill bits & batteries

· Endurance to go up and down stairs

· Proper use of shrink wrap, furniture pads, straps, drill, hand tools

· Work carefully and patiently with fellow movers and customers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
