POSITION SUMMARY:
Rogers State University is accepting applications for a Financial Aid Seasonal Worker to assist with the administration of financial aid programs. PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs various functions related to financial aid, including, but not limited to, counseling students and parents on the financial aid process (in person or by other means), answering incoming calls and resolving any questions related to financial concerns;
- Understand, learn and utilize computer information database systems;
- Help students complete FAFSA’s, MPN’s, Entrance Counseling, and Exit Counseling;
- Responsible for security and confidentiality of assigned records and departmental files;
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and walk-in traffic in a professional, courteous, and timely manner, resolving student inquiries and concerns related to financial aid.
- Assist with general office duties, such as organizing financial aid resources, filing, and helping prepare for busy seasons (e.g., peak application periods);
- Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent communication, telephone and people skills with the ability to be flexible;
- Ability and competence to manage and process high customer interaction volume;
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations;
- Knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Office;
- Superior organization, prioritization, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to abide by procedures and maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to handle and resolve student concerns or issues promptly while providing accurate information;
- Collaborating manner and ability to get along with others in the workplace setting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required);
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Some college coursework or completion of a degree program;
- No specific prior experience in financial aid is required, but a strong interest in higher education or finance is preferred;
- Experience in customer service, office administration, or financial aid-related tasks is a plus.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Financial Aid
HOURS: M-F 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
POSITION: FSLA Non-Exempt
