We are looking to hire a Materials Manager. The Materials Manager will be responsible for managing, planning, and purchasing all materials for AEG Controls, Pressure, and Systems. The manager will supervise a team that analyzes, plans, organizes, and controls the production flow to support the scheduling of orders, materials, and services in support of established and scheduled customer commitments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain AEG production schedule
- Maintain AEG shipping schedule
- Ensure planning and purchasing will support customer order due dates
- Revise/maintain planning parameters in our ERP system
- Ensure contract requirements are flowed down to suppliers
- Mutually establish cost savings goals for each buyer and buyer/planner and track progress, issuing reports on a regular basis
- Approve all purchase orders
- Establish metrics for vendor performance, starting with quality and later including on-time delivery.
- Supervise stockroom and shipping/receiving
- Provide product cost estimates for quoting
- Make recommendations to streamline operations to meet customer demand
- Facilitate implementation of Visual ERP system
- Chair part shortage meeting that includes responsible senior management, operations, finance, and procurement team members. Interface with the Procurement team to obtain part shortage status reported on the Line of Balance Report.
Required Experience, Skills, & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years experience in production and inventory control in a manufacturing operation.
- Strong preference for aerospace experience in low volume, high mix environment.
- Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:
- BS/BA Degree in operations, business, or related educational background preferred.
- CPM and/or CPIM desired
