What are the responsibilities and job description for the Float Fitness FIRST Specialist Per-Diem position at Rogerson Communities?
JOB QUALIFICATIONS : Must be CPR certified and have a desire to learn about supported exercise tests and exercise programming for adults. Training is provided on the job. Strong customer service and communication skills required. Computer proficiency required. Ability to work with older adults. Ability to travel to multiple locations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide Fitness FIRST coverage at various sites as needed
- Screen health history questionnaires, and ensure medical approvals are obtained
- Coordinate, develop and administer an individual fitness assessment and exercise program for participants based on current ACSM and Fitness FIRST guidelines.
- Provide appropriate instruction and orientation to members and staff on proper use of fitness equipment.
- Track statistics and maintain program data.
- Track and communicate changes in members health status with supervisor, and physician or health care provider.
- Refer for Rehabilitation services as needed.
- Review and comply with all physician approvals to perform testing, initiate exercise, and return to exercise from a medical leave or rehabilitation.
- Provide education sessions to residents and staff on health benefits of program services.
- Coordinate referral mechanisms between facilities and Fitness FIRST staff.
- Communicate all program needs to supervisor and / or Property Manager / Service Coordinator.
- Facilitate Group Exercise / Fitness as trained / instructed.
- Provide positive encouragement and motivation to all members.
- Providing timely reporting on equipment health.
- Agree to work as assigned, additional responsibilities may be assigned as they relate to the development / management of Fitness FIRST.
