Position Summary |
This position provides coordination and administrative logistical support for the Transportation Technology and Industrial Technology areas. It will coordinate required course delivery and curriculum development that includes staffing, scheduling, curriculum oversight, evaluations, and partnerships ensuring programs meet state and federal requirements. The position requires management of program operations, assessment, and industry engagement to promote and support the objectives of the RCC Transportation and Industrial Technology pathways. This position contributes to all tasks related to the successful matriculation of students into RCC and beyond, and all tasks in preparing students for workforce readiness and entry. |
1. | Administrative Leadership and Program Oversight
- Collaborate with faculty to align course content with program outcomes and workforce trends.
- Coordinate with faculty in the development of course schedules ensuring coverage across programs and campuses.
- Assist faculty in all aspects of the assessment process inclusive of course level, award, level, program level, and institutional level assessment.
- Establish and maintain processes for regular program assessment, including gathering and analyzing data on student outcomes, employer satisfaction, and workforce alignment.
- Use assessment data to inform continuous improvement, curriculum updates, and program redesign efforts.
- Ensure program compliance with accreditation standards and regulations.

2. | Staff and Faculty Development
- Organize and lead onboarding sessions for new hires, ensuring familiarity with institutional and departmental policies.
- Complete faculty and staff performance reviews in accordance with institutional review cycles.
- Create a repository of faculty professional development opportunities tailored to each discipline.
- Seek funding for professional development of faculty and staff and participate with faculty and staff in professional development as appropriate.
- Track renewal dates for faculty certifications and providing reminders, facilitation, and support for compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies to retain staff such as interviews to understand staff needs, recognition of faculty achievements and ensuring an appropriate work-life balance for faculty and staff.

3. | Budget, Compliance and External Relations
- Allocate funds for equipment, supplies, and professional development.
- Monitor spending to ensure adherence to the approved budget.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for review by the dean or higher administration.
- Facilitate partnerships with local businesses for student internships and job placements.
- Represent the department at community events to promote its programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with advisory committees to align programs with industry standards.
- Write grant proposals targeting specific departmental needs or projects.
- Participate in fundraising events to generate additional resources for departmental growth.
- Develop a system for tracking equipment inventory and scheduling regular maintenance.
- Work with procurement to purchase new tools or software that enhance teaching.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education – A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, Curriculum or related field is required.
- Experience – A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in program and curriculum management, budget preparation and oversight, and compliance with accreditation standards, including supervisory responsibilities, are required.
Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted: accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education, as required by ORS 348.609. Final candidate will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree.

This is a Managerial/Supervisory position in the Student, Learning and Sucess division. Starting compensation will be based on Grade L of the salary schedule, in accordance with initial placement per the current Management, Administrative, and Confidential Employee Handbook. The compensation estimation below is based on the 24-25 salary schedule.
