By fostering a customer-centric, insights-driven, agile, and integrated approach, the UX Designer will champion technology as a catalyst for growth and innovation. This individual will have a significant impact on our digital strategy, bringing proactive, independent, and creative problem-solving skills to the table. They will lead end-to-end user-centered design initiatives and collaborate closely with teams across the credit union to drive exceptional digital experiences.Essential Functions & Responsibilities : 40% Leads end to end user-centered design with an emphasis on interaction design, interactive prototyping and visual design. Brainstorms, writes user stories, sketches, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes and detailed specifications. Collaborates extensively with Projects and Strategic Execution, Marketing, Development and Applications teams as well as cross-functional project team members.30% Performs, reports and acts on user research. Activities include journey and process mapping, surveys, user testing, interviewing / observation, competitive analysis, heuristic evaluation and card sorting. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure that UX insights are effectively communicated and integrated into decision-making processes. Partners with Digital Experience Analyst to analyze and interpret user data.20% Helps establish standards and guidelines : design specifications, systems and component libraries, documentation creation and maintenance. Contributes to analysis and improvement of UX Program processes and education.10% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.Knowledge and Skills : Experience : Three years to five years of UX and user-centered design experience with knowledge of design principles like layout, hierarchy, color theory and typography. Requires two or more years of user research experience, expert level skills in Figma and Adobe CC along with samples of past work. Preferable experience designing solutions for complex multi-channel digital environments, especially within the banking industry. Experience with marketing / brand design, responsive design, HTML / CSS, Qualtrics, UserTesting.com and Agile / Scrum environments is a plus.Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as a UX designer is required. Desired degree types and certifications include but are not limited to user experience or product design, human-computer-interaction, emerging media, digital arts, design, psychology, computer science or informatics. Other certifications in UX design preferred and other relevant certifications are a plus.Interpersonal Skills : Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and / or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and / or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and / or sell ideas or services to others.Other Skills : Must be highly productive, proactive, resourceful, and dependable. Ability to work on a team and independently. Should possess a strong eye for detail and accuracy, strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to motivate or influence others using diplomacy. Demonstrates strong listening skills and contributes ideas. Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality. Excellent PC skills with the aptitude to learn new software.Physical Requirements : Some lifting required (up to 30 pounds), continuous sitting, occasional standing and occasional walking. Finger dexterity while using computer. Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone. Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Ability to drive a motor vehicle or arrange for own transportation.Work Environment : This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. As a direct representative of the Credit Union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery.
