The Purchasing Intern will be responsible for purchasing transactions and maintaining inventories of materials and equipment.
The Purchasing Intern is a full time 5 days a week, onsite role in Columbus, Ohio. Remote work is not available.
Internship Start Date: May 12, 2025
You will be trained on the Operations floor, working alongside team members in our manufacturing, distribution and customer service teams in order to see first-hand the scope of our organization.
After your training, you will be moved into your department and be assigned a Supervisor. Supervisors will direct your day to day activities and be your key contact for non-daily activities and overall guidance. You will be exposed to multiple projects and be issued daily tasks to complete towards those projects.
Internship End Date: August 1, 2025
We will conduct an Exit Interview and get final feedback from Interns on the program.

Responsibilities
- Work with the team and vendors to improve the supply chain
- Manage projects related to supply chain and cost reduction
- Review orders for accuracy and verify that materials, equipment and stock are not available from current inventories
- Enter data for production scheduling, stock replenishment/relocation and inventory adjustments
- Use analytical skills and experience to leverage spreadsheets to optimize inventory and supply chain performance
- Organize, problem solve, and multi-task to manage competing priorities and related details in a time sensitive manufacturing business environment
- Students enrolled in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics or related field
- Previous supply chain work-related skill, knowledge, or experience specifically in purchasing and/or inventory systems preferred
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Must possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple projects and other daily assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Know what skills you will need post-graduation (software programs/communication methods)
- Develop the skills needed for the internship and post-graduation
- Hone the skills you already have to succeed
- Be a part of Department meetings
- Learn about other business functions and how departments collaborate
- Complete a 10-week project and present to the Leadership team and other interns
- Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly on 15th and last day of the month
