At Rohde & Schwarz, we provide our customers with extensive post-sales support, training, free technical support, and close personal contact from our engineers out in the field. This position supports services for our Security Scanner products. Candidates must live within a one-hour commuting distance of either Sea-Tac or Portland International Airports. Candidates must be able to obtain a Department of Homeland Security clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $25-$40 per hour. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.

Your tasks
- Conduct on-site or in-house installation and repair of equipment/systems to ensure it meets Rohde & Schwarz’ high standards of performance
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform repairs and complete preventative maintenance
- Provide remote support to customers and complete service tickets in the ticketing system
- Understand complex RF system architecture and apply that to diagnostic process
- Represent the company in a customer support role and is responsible for customer’s satisfaction with equipment and servicing
- Accurately prepare daily logs and reports of work performed, including hours spent and inventory used for each assignment
- Ability to work independently on moderately complex projects
- Effectively communicate with customers in a professional business environment
- 4 years of experience in RF systems repair, maintenance, and installation
- Understanding of RF concepts and devices
- Familiarity with airport security scanner installation and service is a plus
- Basic understanding of IP Networking and proper network configuration principles
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently on customer sites under high stress
- Can effectively use standard professional software such as Microsoft Office products and ticketing systems
- Ability to travel a minimum of 50%, primarily domestic travel with occasional international travel
- Ability to travel on short notice
- Available to support an on-call schedule and respond to on- demand travel for service actions
- Ability to work outside standard working hours, on holidays and weekends
- Must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds
- Within 1hr driving distance of Portland International Airport (PDX) or Seatle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
- To be considered, candidates must be located in the US and have valid US work authorization.
- Ability to obtain DHS security clearance
