Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our Program Management Office (PMO) team in Columbia, MD. The Technical Writer will be responsible for preparing, editing, and updating program documentation for delivery to government customers. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all documents. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to produce high-quality technical documentation.

The total compensation for this position is $70K-$90K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.

Your tasks
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical plans, procedures, reports, trade studies, and other program documentation.
- Ensure all documents meet government standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and project managers to gather information and clarify technical content.
- Manage document versions and updates, maintaining clear records of revisions.
- Ensure consistency in style, tone, and formatting across all documentation.
- Support the administration and documentation needs of the PMO.
- Assist with the creation of presentations and reports using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Track and manage document approvals and submissions in accordance with project timelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a government contracting or engineering environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with government documentation standards and requirements
- US person capable of receiving a US Government Public Trust clearance.
