Job Overview:
As a Contracting Project Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing project coordination, managing subcontractors, and ensuring the efficient installation and startup of Rohner products. You will collaborate with internal teams, customers, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for distributors, customers, contractors, and internal teams through emails, phone calls, presentations, and meetings.
- Organize and facilitate internal and external project meetings to ensure alignment across all teams.
- Collaborate with the sales team to define and understand the scope of each project.
- Scheduling & Resource Management:
- Coordinate and maintain detailed project schedules for installation, startup, and service activities.
- Allocate and track resources including leads, installers, vehicles, and tools.
- Manage equipment rentals, travel arrangements, and lodging for installation teams.
- Project Costing & Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain detailed job costing reports, tracking project expenses and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure all installation, startup, and service job packets are completed and aligned with the project scope.
- Assist in updating the project management tools, including the Monday.com Board, to reflect current project statuses.
- Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor project quality by documenting warranty and quality-related issues and collaborating with other departments to address and resolve these issues.
- Provide technical support to the sales team for troubleshooting and cost estimation for installations and startups.
- Administrative & Financial Support:
- Oversee the submission of invoices, approval of hours, and management of expenses through the accounts payable system.
- Enter sales orders, production requests, and change orders in the ERP system.
- Site Visits & Training:
- Conduct periodic site visits to gain hands-on experience, train the install crews, and ensure projects are running smoothly.
- Organize logistics for customer visits, meetings, and team travel.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in construction management or a related field (or 3-5 years of relevant experience in a construction-related role).
- Previous experience in a supervisory or project management capacity within the construction or installation industries is preferred.
- Experience with reading blueprints, understanding construction terminology, and managing subcontractors is a plus.
- Technical & Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with teams and clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software (e.g., Monday.com, ERP systems) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of construction site safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to travel for on-site visits and hands-on experience.
