Our Regional Operations Manager is responsible for successful company transportation operations within their given area of responsibility. The number one priority is to ensure our customers’ satisfaction by understanding their expectations and consistently exceeding them. We will achieve this through excellent communication with customers and team members, making sure our actions match our vision at all times. The ROM’s success is directly measured by our company’s success within their area of responsibility.
PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Establish and maintain effective communication with our area’s customers
- Respond to all questions and concerns immediately
- Understand all contractual obligations and direct company operations to ensure full compliance
LEAD, MANAGE, & EXECUTE THE COMPANY’S INITIATIVES IN YOUR ASSIGNED AREA
- Understand and communicate all company policies & directly manage each District Supervisor
- Organize work tasks and train employees on their position and other positions in which they may cover
- Conduct reviews of all direct reports and perform evaluations as needed
- Assist employees with concerns, conflicts, and problems
- Coordinate with upper management on the implementation of changes, updates, or company concerns
- Lead and execute a successful recruitment strategy for all open positions within the assigned area
- Assist in the updating of driver materials such as vehicle/driver information notebooks/handbooks and notices
- Coordinate and assist in special activities such as driver meetings, state/local safety competitions, special events, etc
- Be aware of all potential new business opportunities and communicate them to the management team
COORDINATE & MANAGE THE ACTIVITIES OF ALL RELEVANT DEPARTMENTS
- Operations Support
- Assist in coordination of daily work assignments as needed
- Support all aspects of daily operations
- Safety & Training
- Understand & oversee training process for new employees to facilitate successful job placement
- Understand accident and incident procedures to coach and assist Supervisors in all emergency situations
- Human Resources & Recruitment
- Plan and facilitate all recruitment and hiring initiatives, ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times
- Collect and provide all required employee records while accurately maintaining our database
- Assure all reviews are completed on time and effectively and document all employee discussions
- Asset Management
- Monitor vehicle requirements to assist Supervisors in ensuring fleet compliance and reliability
- Communicate maintenance issues and constraints with appropriate members of management team
- Accounting & Payroll
- Understand all internal requirements to assist completing and delivering timely financial information
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES TO MAINTAIN OPERATIONAL SUCCESS
- Operate company vehicles and provide route coverage, when needed
- Understand and keep updated on industry regulations and relevant laws
- Participate in local industry transportation associations, events, and organizations
