- Independently set up and run a folder/gluer machine without aid from a trainer
- Address and solve any issues with quality or machine during job run.
- Review work order, gluing requirements, and job specifics, to determine components, settings, and adjustments for the gluer/folder machine.
- Read and interpret orders to specify exactly how the customer wants the order done.
- Monitor the operations of the folder/gluer machine and ensure that the products processed confer to client specifications.
- Examine finished products to ensure finalized sample meets job order requirements.
- Closely observe operation of machine to detect malfunctions and form solutions to problems.
- Adjust machine controls to position and align as needed.
- Manage inventory for glue and tags.
- Master knowledge of: straight line, straight line tuck, auto-bottom, auto-bottom back fold, 4-corner tray, 4-corner tray outside fold, and inner cell/5th panel fold job requirements.
- Independently understands: 6-corner tray with and without lid, Z-fold, and specialty work.
- Thorough understanding of feeder, carton aligner, pre-break, final fold section, kicker, and stacker section, Nordson cold and hot glue systems, Label-Aire, Quadrel tagger, glued headers, and glued headers with auto bottom.
- Accurate and timely job information data entry, including counts, quality records and inventory into the OMS system
- Observe feeding and folding of material and gluing edges to detect machine malfunction.
- Inspect completed cartons to verify conformance to work order specifications and adjust machine controls to correct variations.
- Independently set-up and run: feeder, carton aligner, pre-break, final fold section, kicker, stacker section, Leary glue system and scanner, Pafra glue system, Nordson cold and hot glue systems, Label-Aire, Quadrel tagger, straight line products, glued headers, glued headers with auto bottom, and auto bottom.
- Perform the routine maintenance tasks of cleaning, lubricating, and repairing the glue machinery.
- Configure where the fold and break should be and where glue should be placed.
- Adjust machine components according to requirements such as widths, lengths, and thickness of materials and amounts of glue.
- Clean and lubricate machine to maintain equipment in working order.
