What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler PRINT- 3rd shift position at Rohrer Corporation?

- At the beginning of the shift change, the Material Handler I is responsible for:
- Arriving 10 minutes before shift to receive any updates from previous shift’s Material Handler I
- During ‘Setup’ Operation, Material Handler I is responsible for:
- Verifying pallet specifications
- De-staging current job
- Staging for next job includes pallets and item count
- During ‘Run’ Operator, Material Handler I is responsible for:
- Packing supplies for current job and moving skids.
- Pre-staging for next job includes gathering product and packing supplies
- De-staging completed jobs including returning any un-used packing supplies
- Assist in closing of the job
- Coordinates with the Material Stager to get corrugated cartons for orders in place and get unused materials from previous orders put back in the correct location.
- Obtain pallets, boxes, bottoms and dividers to take paper bails off and to load the truck with the paper bails.
- The Material Handler scans completed orders and moves finished goods to the warehouse.
- Load semis for the warehouse, unload pallet trucks and corrugated trucks.
- Must visualize and measure pallet size with correct box.
- Familiarizes self with the items being packed.
- Correctly uses required safety PPE: steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Transports materials to and from storage to designated area using forklift, pallet jack, carts and other devices.
- During slow periods, the Material Handler will work with the Material Stager, Team Lead – Packing to identify materials needed on the packing line or other prep work.
- Demonstrates teamwork and motivation on intensive and easier packing jobs.
- Monitoring the scrap system to ensure material is correctly baled and maintained.
- Carry out assignments in a timely, diligent and safe manner.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or uses hand pallet jack and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.
- Maintain assigned lines in a clean and orderly condition; follow all safety policies and procedures including GMP practices to meet company standards.
- Understands the packing line procedures (Balcip) including but not limited to:
- Card orientation in box
- Card jogging procedures
- Final quality/collating verification
- Quality checks
- Understands all packing line metrics and goals.
- Completes daily end of shift duties as assigned by the Team Lead – Packing.
- Keeps the flow of the process moving at a fast and steady pace.
