Position Overview:
The Maitre d’ will be seen as the "face of the restaurant", responsible for overseeing the Front Desk and its operations, ensuring seamless guest experiences, and creating the highest level of hospitality. This individual will lead by example, providing personalized attention to guests, managing reservations, and working closely with the service staff and the management team to guarantee that every guest has an exceptional dining experience. This person will lead in efforts to continue to promote business and create relationships to benefit continued patronage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a welcoming and memorable first impression.
- Manage reservations, including special requests, and optimize seating arrangements.
- Oversee the flow of service, ensuring smooth transitions and timely seating.
- Supervise, train, and motivate the Front Desk Team.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and management to ensure seamless service and the highest quality guest experience.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during busy or stressful situations.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with grace and diplomacy.
- Ensure the dining room is always impeccably presented and organized.
- Stay up to date on menu offerings and wine list to provide accurate recommendations to guests.
- Assist in Grassroots Marketing Campaigns and Promotion and relationship building for Roka Akor.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a Maitre d’, Host/Hostess, or in a similar leadership role in a high-end, fine-dining environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with high-profile guests.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- A polished, professional appearance and demeanor.
- Knowledge of reservation and POS systems (experience with [specific software] preferred).
- A passion for hospitality and an eye for detail.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
