About The Team
At Roku, our Ads Manager product team is building the interface and services to help democratize connected TV advertising for businesses of all sizes. The product team works cross-functionality to understand user needs and market opportunities, collaborates on a thoughtful go-to-market plan to drive the success of the latest features, analyzes data, and works hand-in-hand across multiple engineering and UX teams. The team goal is to grow platform adoption, scale customer success, and make it easy for nearly anyone to grow their business through the biggest screen in the house.
About The Role
We're seeking a skilled Technical/UX Writer to join our Roku Ads Manager team, focusing on in-platform copywriting, public-facing API documentation, and help center content. This role supports highly strategic and data-driven product, engineering, and UX teams. You'll collaborate closely to ensure clear and intuitive user experiences for advertisers, API partners, and internal users, contributing to the success of our growing advertising platform.

About The Role
We're seeking a skilled Technical/UX Writer to join our Roku Ads Manager team, focusing on in-platform copywriting, public-facing API documentation, and help center content. This role supports highly strategic and data-driven product, engineering, and UX teams. You'll collaborate closely to ensure clear and intuitive user experiences for advertisers, API partners, and internal users, contributing to the success of our growing advertising platform.
What you’ll be doing
- Partner with UX Designers on their projects to provide clear and precise user-centered copy for their designs
- Create clear technical API documentation for development partners, collaborating with Product and Engineering
- Write clear, concise, and user-friendly copy, including UI text, microcopy, notifications, error messages, and onboarding flows
- Devise content strategies that give users intuitive, familiar patterns of instructions, labels, and messaging within UX designs across multiple partner tools
- Collaborate with other UX Writers to maintain consistency across all user touchpoints
- Work with strong User Researchers to determine and execute the ideal research methodology to evaluate and improve your copy
- Own your work and communicate effectively, articulating your decisions to colleagues from diverse disciplines
- Drive projects forward, proactively addressing roadblocks in order to prioritize team progress
- An ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and easy-to-understand manner
- Experience as a UX Writer on multiple shipped software products, and the ability to discuss your specific contributions in a compelling way
- Experience collaborating with UX, Product Managers, and management to write and refine copy through rapid iterations, meeting the goals of both users and the business
- A passion for finding just the right words, communicated at just the right time, to help users succeed in their tasks
- An ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while ensuring that work fits within an effective overall communication framework
- Endless empathy for the user and a desire to advocate relentlessly for them
- 3 years’ experience and the ability to work independently with the Product and UX teams
