GENERAL SUMMARY:
Roland Park Country School located in Baltimore, MD is seeking a highly motivated JV Badminton Head Coach. As a school committed to educating and supporting the growth and development of each student, RPCS fosters an environment where students thrive by lifting each other up and leading for the greater good.
This is a part-time paid position that reports to the Co-Directors of Athletics and works closely with all members of the RPCS Athletic Department including the Varsity Badminton Head Coach. The Upper School spring season begins February 18 and runs through the beginning of May. Upper School sports are held Monday through Friday (occasional weekends), 4:00-6:00 p.m.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports and executes the vision for the Badminton program at RPCS as communicated by the Athletic Department and the Varsity Badminton Head Coach.
- Fosters strong relationships with the athletes and inspires them to achieve their best.
- Implements proven coaching techniques and approaches that result in continued growth and success of the program.
- Develops the skills of all of the badminton student-athletes in ways that prepare them for competition performance and potential Varsity level participation in the future.
- Works in coordination with the athletic administrative team on scheduling, game day prep, out of season workouts, uniforms, and facilities.
- A strong communicator with all constituencies.
- An enthusiastic supporter of all aspects of the RPCS community life including academics, arts and the entire athletic department.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned from time to time by the Co-Directors of Athletics.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- At least two years of athletic and competitive coaching experience in a high school, college, or professional setting.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Local travel may be required for games and other program-related activities.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Stipend : $2,500 for season (February - May)
