Roland Park Place, Baltimore’s premier upscale senior living community, is seeking an experienced Director of Facility Services with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Management required; experience in Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and/or long-term health care facilities is preferred.
What you will be doing:
- Ensures safety precautions are followed, emergency preparedness plans are understood, and compliance with Roland Park Place policies/procedures regarding employee accidents/incidents is maintained.
- Assists in interviewing, hiring, training, and onboarding Facility Services Staff.
- Helps to ensure community and department goals in the areas of satisfaction and engagement are met by utilizing established culture, systems, processes, and control measures.
- Assist in developing and managing the facility services and capital planning budget. Monitors expenditures and ensures cost-effective use of resources. Helps prepare reports on budget status and forecast future needs.
- Aids in identifying real/potential problems affecting service delivery and collaborates with the Director to implement solutions with follow-through and communication.
- Contributes to the development and oversight of housekeeping, laundry, building operations, apartment turnovers, and capital project plans to ensure all meet quality standards.
- Participates in the selection and oversight of external contractors for building operations, including waste management, refurbishing interior, plumbing, exterminators, landscape maintenance, and special repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and building codes.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility. Develop and implement safety training programs for facility services associates.
- Assists in maintaining all building systems to the highest standards with proactive preventive maintenance, testing, and repair schedules, ensuring community infrastructure is functional, comfortable, compliant, energy-efficient, and attractive.
- Maintains open communication and cooperates with all other departments to coordinate the Facility Services Department’s role in providing a favorable physical, social, and emotional environment for all residents and associates.
- Respond to community emergencies as required.
- Respond to facility service requests and concerns from residents, staff, and visitors promptly and professionally. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining a well-functioning and aesthetically pleasing facility.
- Plans and executes facility improvement projects, including apartment renovations and upgrades. Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects within budget.
What we are looking for:
Excellent problem-solving/judgment skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- At least Five (5) years of management experience and a working knowledge of building and fire codes/regulations; security and facility operations; telephone services; housekeeping and laundry management; grounds and landscaping management.
- Must be able to read and interpret building drawings, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
- Ability to work hours necessary to meet the demands of the job.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
- Be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Continuing Care Retirement Community and/or long-term health care facilities experience preferred.
- Strong training capabilities.
- Must be able to carry a cell phone to be “on call” for 24 hours and to respond promptly.
