Communities

Roland and Story City are located 15 minutes north of Ames and 40 minutes north of Des Moines, just off Interstate 35. Nestled in the Iowa heartland, Roland and Story City are safe, attractive, and vibrant communities that embrace their small-town character. These communities contribute to a high quality of life, featuring public libraries, museums, the Story Theatre/Grand Opera House (the oldest continually operating theatre in Iowa), the Story City Carousel (Iowa's only operating antique carousel), numerous churches, a golf course, two swimming pools, and downtown shopping.

Responsibilities:

- Perform custodial duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and dusting
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
- Vacuum carpets and rugs
- Perform floor care tasks such as buffing, waxing, and polishing
- Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations

Experience:

- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Skills:

- Custodial skills: Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and safety procedures.
- Buffing: Experience in using floor buffing machines to maintain the shine and cleanliness of floors.
- Floor care: Ability to perform various floor care tasks such as waxing, stripping, and polishing.
- Commercial cleaning: Experience in cleaning commercial buildings or facilities.
- Facilities maintenance: Familiarity with general maintenance tasks related to building upkeep.
- Industrial cleaning: Knowledge of specialized cleaning methods for industrial environments.
