Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings.
- Administer medications, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments.
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures.
- Take X-Rays of animals.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other samples.
- Inventory maintenance, and other daily skills.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
- Provide compassionate care and support to pets and their owners.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and health maintenance.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff.
Requirements
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent experience required.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary terminology, and dental procedures.
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital preferred.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and animal handling techniques.
- Proficiency in performing routine veterinary procedures.
- ability to operate X-ray equipment and develop x-rays.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Physical stamina to lift and restrain animals of various sizes.
