Job Description:

We are seeking experienced and skilled welders to perform GMAW-MC (Metal Core) welding on 2” XXH ASTM A106 Grade B pipe for a 1G Rollout test. This position requires precision and attention to detail while welding on horizontal pipe, which can be rotated to maintain a comfortable working position. The 1G position allows the welder to easily rotate the pipe, ensuring optimal weld positioning throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Weld 2” XXH ASTM A106 Grade B pipe using the GMAW-MC process (Metal Core).

• Ensure correct groove preparation (37.5° bevel for an included angle of 75°) and maintain proper root opening of 3/32” – 1/8”.

• Follow the welding parameters provided for both root and fill & cap passes, adjusting settings as needed.

• Adhere to safety standards and protocols on the job site.

• Produce high-quality welds with deep penetration and excellent overall quality.

• Work in a fast-paced production welding environment.

Materials and Specifications:

• Material: 2” XXH ASTM A106 Grade B pipe

• Groove Preparation: Beveled to 37.5° for an included angle of 75°.

• Root Opening: 3/32” – 1/8”.

Welding Parameters:

• Root Pass:

  • Amps: 169 – 216

  • Volts: 17 – 21

  • Gas: AR/CO2 (85%/15%)

• Fill & Cap Pass:

  • Amps: 225 – 286

  • Volts: 22.5 – 28.5

  • Gas: AR/CO2 (85%/15%)

Position: 1G Rollout (Horizontal, Rotatable Pipe)

Shifts & Pay Schedule:

We offer 3 shifts to accommodate different schedules:

• Monday-Thursday: 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM

• Monday-Thursday: 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM (Plus $2/hour)

• Friday-Sunday: 4:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Plus $3.50/hour)

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with GMAW-MC (Metal Core) welding, especially in the 1G position.

• Familiarity with welding parameters and ability to adjust settings as necessary for optimal results.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
