Traveling Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Field Service Technician (Colorado)

Location: Conifer,CO (but you will be working daily in and around Denver)
Hours: 7AM-4PM (over time sometimes) no weekend
Pay: $28-35 plus DOE
Are you an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic who enjoys working independently, solving problems on the go, and traveling to new job sites? We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled Traveling Field Service Technician to maintain and repair heavy construction equipment across various locations throughout Colorado.
This is a full-time, field-based position with hands-on work on a variety of equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, trailers, and diesel trucks.
What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment and fleet vehicles
- Travel to construction sites across Colorado to provide on-site service
- Operate equipment as needed to assess performance and repair needs
- Maintain a clean, organized company-provided service truck
- Order parts and track service intervals and repairs using digital tools
- Document work through mobile apps and tablets
- Identify safety concerns and escalate issues when third-party repair is needed
- Assist with equipment or part pickups/deliveries as needed
- Work in various outdoor conditions year-round
Qualifications:
- 3 years of field mechanic or heavy equipment technician experience
- Strong skills in hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems
- Must have own tools (or access to them)
- Valid Driver’s License with clean MVR CDL preferred
- Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, kneeling, etc.)
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification is a plus
- Must pass drug screen and pre-employment physical
- Team player with strong communication and a positive attitude
