Cyber Security Engineer Intern
Location : Harrisburg, PA, and Remote
Reports To : Chief Information Security Officer
Overview :
The Cyber Security Systems Engineer Intern will help evaluate the systems and network enterprise environments of Rolka Loube. By using technical knowledge and analytical skill to determine the optimum mix of technology, policy, procedures, and education to implement effective security programs and strategies. The Cyber Security Systems Engineer Intern will exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment to determine the optimum resolution of system or network incidents detected tools within the security stack or reported Rolka Loube staff. The Cyber Security Systems Engineer Intern will also forensically preserve and analyze data to support internal investigations, or as required under law for release to external law enforcement agencies under the direction of the Office of General Counsel. The Cyber Security Systems Engineer Intern will help execute operational Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) activities.
The Cyber Security Engineer Intern will learn tools and techniques to manage cyber risk. The position will monitor endpoint detection response tools for malicious threats and remediation. Learn how to conduct vulnerability scans and analyze the results. Review daily cyber security intelligence and produce reports on cyber security activities. The position requires constant engagement of current cyber security trends and performing ongoing research as new cyber security information is released. This position is technically focused and is primarily engaged with the cyber security tool stack and fills the responsibilities of cyber security operations center.
Responsibilities :
- Assist with vulnerability discovery, tracking, and remediation. Monitor vulnerability trends and provide suggestions to the Sr. Engineer.
- Perform complex testing, implementation, and operation of secure operating systems, networks, databases, and security event monitoring products.
- Perform and analyze forensic preservation of hard drives.
- Monitor and administer tools of the cyber security stack.
- Identify any cyber security gaps or threats that do not have a cyber security control in place to mitigate or remediate risk.
- Participate in the tactical execution of Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT).
- Monitor and conduct assessments of information systems and networks within the enterprise to identify any deviations from the approval configuration baselines or policy.
- Integrate with internal teams to perform cyber security threat modeling.
- Perform research and stay abreast of industry best practices.
- Work with multiple departments to integrate cyber security requirements and support all assigned requests.
- Address service desk tickets in a timely manner ensuring proper resolution.
