About the Role
Loading, unloading, assembly, and operation of module trailers and heavy transport trucks, performing minor maintenance on the equipment and assisting with the mobilization/demobilization of equipment in accordance with local legislation and regulations, internal and external (client’s) procedures and guidelines, so that the work can be carried out effectively and safely.
Responsibilities
- Preparing transport operations, including mobilization and preparing the transport combination, checking the presence of all person-related and equipment-related documentation, identifying safety risks in the workplace, applying prescribed safety measures, discussing the transport plan, and conducting consultations with Senior Operator.
- Carrying out transport operations safely, including operating heavy transport trucks, (module) trailers, and other means of transport, safely moving the load using standardized hand and arm signals and any aid.
- Understand and follow all industry recognized signals and practices.
- Capable of performing and checking rigging and lashing done on equipment and the load, to ensure that the move can be performed safely for personnel, load, and equipment.
- Complying with established safety regulations, both internally and externally, so that work can be carried out safely and sustainably for both people and the environment.
- Troubleshoots any issues seen with the trailers which do not conform to typical, approved methods.
- Has basic knowledge of engineering drawings/sketches and is able to ensure that loads, loading methods, load securing, and load transport comply with the plan.
- Assists with jacking, pumping, carriage, winch, and work before, during, and after movement.
- Clear and unambiguous agreements and consultations, both with internal and external stakeholders, so that the work is carried out on time, safely, and in accordance with the correct quality requirements.
- Identification of necessary maintenance and/or repairs.
- Correctly completing, using, and returning consignment notes, weekly statement, or other administrative work.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by manager or supervisor.
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in transport operations, rigging operations and equipment. Excellent communications and situational awareness skills
- Knowledge and competency related to transportation under regional governing agencies
- Valid driver’s license through local jurisdiction
- Meet all requirements as stated in the company competence and training matrix.
