About the Role
The Transport Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing the execution of heavy
transportation and is responsible for ensuring safe operations of Roll Group, and on occasion,
third party transport equipment, including but not limited to Scheuerle trailers, Nootebooms,
forklifts, et cetera. S/he oversees all transportation personnel assigned to the project and is
responsible for the accurate completion of all documentation associated with the transportation
on site, as well as enforcing all company and client policies, practices and procedures and acts
as a liaison between customers and the company.
Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring the effective on-site management of company operations
- Supervises daily operational activities for assigned work areas (job site or in the yard working on equipment)
- Ensures work activities are performed in a safe, productive, and efficient manner
- Reviews pre-job system evaluations daily to ensure all hazards are identified and mitigated
- Ensures all required paperwork including but not limited to; time sheets including job numbers, inspections, maintenance requests, etc. are completed and submitted in a timely manner with any required company and or client signatures
- Represents the company as a liaison to help resolve customer, employee, or contractor concerns professionally
- Ensures all site rules are communicated to employees and always adhered to
- Ability to assist engineering with project solutions and read all engineered drawings
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by manager or supervisor
Qualifications
- 2 years of minimum experience in a similar supervisory role within the industry or related
- industry
- A strong knowledge of hydraulic skidding systems and gantry systems (functions,
- capabilities, and standards).
- 3-5 years of experience in transport operations, rigging operations and equipment. Excellent
- communications and situational awareness skills
- Knowledge and competency related to transportation under regional governing agencies
- Valid driver’s license through local jurisdiction
- Meet all requirements as stated in the company competence and training matrix.
