What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Metrology Gage Setup Specialist position at Roller Bearing Company of America, Inc?
- Oversee all aspects of Gage Calibration
- Perform gage calibration
- Document calibration results in appropriate software and paper records as required
- Coordinate external calibration services as required
- Point of contact for repairing and ordering new or replacing gauging
- Ensures calibration system is current, error free, and meets all customer & regulatory requirements
- Point of contact for calibration suppliers
- Point of contact for customer, regulatory, and third party audits relative to metrology related inquiries
- Point of contact for Gage Setup
- Assists and/or sets up new gauging for Quality Inspectors and Operators throughout the shop
- Provides training to Quality Inspectors and Operators on correct gage selection, setup, use, and care for all gages used throughout the shop
- Provides assistance to manufacturing suppliers and other RBC divisions for metrology related needs
- Works with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering on new product gauging needs and inspection methods
- Performs Quality Inspections on Heim product
- As time permits – assist with standard quality inspection and over inspection duties
- Advocate for ongoing Continuous Improvement of inspection methods throughout the organization
- Provide input to Quality Management on streamlining inspection processes at the point of manufacturing and in the Quality Inspection area
- An active member of the Heim Internal Audit Team
- Performs and flows through with internal audit assignments
This person may perform any related job as required in any area of the plant and will perform other reasonable duties as assigned by inspection supervision.
