Press Operator

ROLLER DIE AND FORMING, a metal manufacturer and fabrication company located in Green Cove Springs, is seeking a full-time machine operator with experience running machines, roll lines, press brakes, roll mills, stamping, and/or industrial steel machines.

Schedule:

First Shift: M-Fri 5AM-1:30PM and additional overtime as needed. MAY SWITCH TO 4/10S M-THURS, FRI OT IF OVER 40HRS

Performance review at 90 days.

Position Summary:

• Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.
• Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers
• Examine completed work pieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws
• Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, and dimensions and tolerances.
• Load work pieces, plastic material, or chemical solutions into machines.
• Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
• Test and adjust machine speeds and actions, according to product specifications, and using gauges and hand tools.
• Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
• Clean and lubricate machines.
• Interaction with coworkers and supervisors.
• Perform work according to safety guidelines
• Meet deadlines and performs other assignment as directed

Qualifications:

• Must have basic and problem solving skills
• Must have the following technical skills: equipment maintenance and selection; installation; operation monitoring, control, and analysis; programming; quality control analysis; repairing; technology design; and, troubleshooting.

Physical Abilities and Requirements:

• Visual and Hearing: Must be able to see with corrective eye wear, must be able to hear clearly with assistance, wearing hearing protection
• Lifting-must be able to lift 0-50 lbs. and/or greater than 50 lbs. with assistance, push up to 300 lbs.
• Other physical requirements include must have the ability to walk, stand bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist frequently and repeatedly and for extended periods.
