Summary
The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of food and beverage services within the casino. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high-quality customer service, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The supervisor will collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to create a diverse and appealing menu, manage inventory, and control costs while maximizing profitability. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will also handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues to ensure a positive dining experience for guests. A F&B Supervisor must possess strong leadership and communication skills, a passion for the hospitality industry, and a deep understanding of food and beverage service standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provides consistent, attentive and friendly service to guests.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Issues written and oral instructions in a timely manner.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Addresses and resolves any problems, which may occur during assigned shift (i.e. customer complaints, employee problems, etc.) as much as possible within the job’s authority.
- Maintains a hospitable and team atmosphere with fellow staff.
- Sells alcoholic beverages and food to guests, following RBS guidelines.
- Relays any complaints, problems, or positive remarks to Room Manager or Shift Manager.
- Maintains assigned workstation and section in a sanitary and organized manner.
- Operates, balances and reconciles cash & credit card transactions, and follows proper procedures for closing and balancing till.
- Performs or assists team members/staff in performing duties and teaches customer service skills.
- Trains new employees and monitors their activity.
- Requisitions supplies and prepares inventories as requested.
- Monitors customer satisfaction of food, service, and atmosphere.
- Prepares memos and provide written direction to team/staff members.
- Follows established departmental policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Completion of Orientation and safety trainings
- Additional trainings as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises up to 45 employees in restaurants, bars, and gaming floor. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and the applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred and two years specialized experience working in the food services industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of computers in a Windows based environment is required. Must have previous experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system. Candidate must have previous customer service experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply-common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission. RBS certification as trained at Rolling Hills Casino. Food handler's permit from a relevant government agency. Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino. Valid state issued Driver’s license.
