What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Day Camp - Counselor/Lifeguard/Creative Arts/Athletic Specialist position at Rolling Hills Day Camp?
Rolling Hills Day Camp is looking for COUNSELORS, ATHLETIC SPECIALISTS, CREATIVE SPECIALISTS, and LIFEGUARDS. We are looking for teachers, mature college students, or high school students, who are at least 16 years old by the beginning of summer, to become part of our staff. Rolling Hills is looking for caring, energetic, happy people to work with campers ages 3-15. Our staff comes back year after year for the rewarding and fun experiences they can’t get anywhere else.
Rolling Hills is located on 20 acres near the Marlboro/ Freehold border. We are easily accessible to Route 9, 18, 79 and 520. We have staff and campers from Ocean to Rumson and everywhere in between.
Our COUNSELORS consist of students and teachers who are with the same group of campers throughout the entire day all summer. They have the well-being and safety of their campers as their first priority. Counselors work as a team with other counselors in their group to oversee the campers. Counselors and campers form a special bond that will stay with staff and campers for a lifetime.
LIFEGUARDS at Rolling Hills consist of students and teachers who spend their days at our heated pools. Our lifeguards not only guard the pools during free swim, but have the opportunity to teach campers how to swim/perfect their strokes. Lifeguards work with a small group of campers each instructional swim period to teach them strokes compatible with their Red Cross level. We will certify lifeguards if you are not already certified.
Our ATHLETIC SPECIALISTS consist of college students and teachers who run activity areas based on their skills. Rolling Hills has a wide range of sports to offer, such as SOCCER, BASKETBALL, SOFTBALL, HOCKEY, TENNIS, GYMNASTICS, and much more! Specialists work with campers as groups and during electives to help them improve their skills, referee games, and support campers.
CREATIVE SPECIALISTS are college students and teachers who run creative activities. Rolling Hills offers many creative outlets, such as ART, COOKING, CERAMICS, SCIENCE, WOODSHOP, DRAMA, and much more! We are looking for specialists who have knowledge of their area and can teach campers how to complete projects/participate in the activity.
Rolling Hills has an amazing OUTDOOR ADVENTURE program. We train our staff to work with campers on our ZIPLINES, ROCK WALL, BUNGEE TRAMPOLINE, HIGH ROPES COURSES, GO KARTS, and more! Our Outdoor Adventure staff works as a tight-knit team to give campers experiences they may not get anywhere else.
Staff members that work at Rolling Hills Day Camp are positive, happy, responsible and flexible. We offer our staff a wonderful atmosphere to teach in and give much needed support to help run a successful camp program.
