What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Interventionist position at Rolling Hills Elementary School?
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in reading to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Provide teachers with appropriate Math resources, training, and support.
Instructional Strategies
Planning TIER 3 RTI lessons and pulling TIER 3 students for RTI math services.
Maintain a record of progress monitoring and other RTI documentation that is required by district and state.
Provide professional development and/or planning to teachers in instructional strategies that utilize individualized, intensive, and multisensory methods. (RTI strategies if needed.)
Manage and distribute instructional resources and/or technology to teachers and provide training on the use of those materials as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Student Growth and Development
Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing. (F & P)
Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
Be a positive role model for students, support the mission of the school district.
Classroom Management and Organization
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
Communication
Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Professional Growth and Development
Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required in a timely manner.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Master’s degree in Elementary Reading or equivalent preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in elementary reading, preferably, grades three thru five
- Highly Qualified Status in the subject area assigned if applicable
- At least five years of successful elementary reading teaching experience, preferably, in grades three thru five
- Experience in development, preparation, and presentation of professional development preferred. ESL certification preferred
