SUMMARY:
The Early Childhood Program Coordinator is responsible for the Preschool, Early Childhood, and Preschool/Pre-K Camp programs at the Park District. This position also includes supervision of part-time preschool/early childhood and camp staff as well as oversees program development and curriculum. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include:
ADMINISTRATIVE:
- Research, plan, organize, develop, market and implement early childhood and preschool programs that satisfy the needs of the community.
- Develop and implement program curriculum, field trips and special events that align with Early Childhood learning standards.
- Analyze program feedback, practices and procedures, record keeping systems, forms and personnel requirements.
- Maintain electronic communication with participants, including designed email, photo-sharing app, and emergency contact information.
PERSONNEL:
- Interview and hire qualified staff.
- Maintain substitute staff.
- Host quarterly staff in-service meetings for program planning.
- Promote programs through a variety of marketing techniques, including newsletters, social media and email
AREAS AND FACILITIES
- Responsible for scheduling Preschool rooms
- Maintain Early Childhood guidelines for health and safety.
- Schedule facility for all tot-related programming.
PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
- Develop rapport with patrons of the Community Center.
- Through leadership and personal relationships encourages part-time staff to promote positive community relationships.
- Promote programs through a variety of marketing techniques, including newsletters, social media and email.
- Conduct parent meetings annually and promote parent partnerships.
RECORD, REPORTS AND MEETINGS
- Keep program attendance, accident forms, program reports, and program budgets.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings with Preschool staff.
- Select and review continuing education programs for Preschool staff.
- Monitor and track employee payroll information and approve time cards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from a college or university with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, Recreation or related field with at least three (3) to five (5) years of related experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in early childhood/preschool and summer camp programming is preferred. Proven successful and progressive experience in leadership in a supervisory capacity. Experience and knowledge of local government, community organizations, and other social agencies.
SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS
The full pay range for this position is $22.00-$28.00 hourly, DOQ.
This position is IMRF eligible with expected hours on a part-time basis, 20-25 hours a week Benefits include: IMRF, discounts on some programming, and pool, skating, and/or fitness pass.
