Rolling Plains Management Corporation is seeking a full time Bookkeeper for its Finance Department in the Central Office in Crowell, Texas. The position is an hourly position reporting to the Finance Director with regular work hours Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Some variation in work hours may be required. This position entails tasks that are technical and diverse in nature and require the capacity of judgment and action to accomplish program goals. This person must have the capacity to work with others in a group effort to meet department goals.

JOB SUMMARY
The Bookkeeper is responsible for conducting work regarding accounting and fiscal reporting in accordance with the agency Accounting & Financial Policies and Procedures Manual and grant regulations. The Bookkeeper provides day-to-day fiscal support to the Director of Finance and respective program directors. This position performs financial duties as assigned including, but not limited to, accounts payable processing, journal entry preparations, maintenance of vendor files, and reconciliation of vendor statements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide day-to-day fiscal support to the RPMC Fiscal Manager, Program Directors and staff.
- Provides competent relief coverage for the receptionist as needed.
- Responsible for accounts payable including the scanning and recording of invoices, timely payment of invoices and proper filing of documentation.
- Investigates outstanding vendor invoices and reconciles vendor statements.
- Responsible for filing of all accounting documents and maintaining those files (if assigned).
- Assist in the timely reconciliation of Agency Bank Statements (if assigned)
- Act to ensure compliance with RPMC Financial procedures to ensure that the agency is following GAAP and other applicable statutes and regulations related to accounting and program.
- Write clear and concise reports, correspondence, procedures and other written materials as needed.
- Organize work, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships.
- Ensures confidentiality of clients and employees.

- Assure that any on-the-job accidents are reported immediately and followed-up with appropriate forms.
- Submit timesheets accurately and timely as directed by management.
- Report any suspected fraud and abuse to the direct supervisor or other appropriate management.
- Assures accurate and appropriate records/documents are developed and maintained.
- Provide excellent customer service, both internally and externally.
- Ensures that all staff and external customers are provided timely, accurate responses to all inquiries.
- Ensures work product quality and quantity control by reviewing documents, reports, forms, records, or other materials for content, completeness, or accuracy.
- Notify management on any real or perceived problems.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with clients, other staff, vendors, and monitors to provide payroll services.
- Must communicate positively with others.
- Must use initiative, independent judgment and problem solving within established procedural guidelines.
- Must work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management skills and flexibility.
- Use all basic office equipment in an efficient and effective manner

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in business or related field required. Two years of related job experience may be substituted for one (1) year of college with approval of the Executive Director.
- One year bookkeeping or related experience required.
- Ability to make accurate math calculations required
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to balance a variety of duties, prioritize, and meet deadlines required.
- Ability and desire to work with a diverse population and low-income individuals required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skill required. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, other team members, and management.
- Possess demonstrated ability of personal computer operations within a Windows Microsoft environment, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Must be willing to take and pass a drug/alcohol test and comply with the Drug Free: Agency Policy

- Must be a minimum of 25 years of age to operate a company vehicle. One year may be waived provided that the individual has a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
- Must possess ability to provide reliable self-transportation capable of regional travel.
- Must possess and maintain valid Texas motor vehicle operators permit of appropriate classification and endorsement as required. Must agree to maintain a satisfactory MVR and minimum requirement of insurability as required by law. MVR background checks may be conducted by the agency.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to maintain physical condition and stamina appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include sitting, standing, walking, or riding in a vehicle for extended periods of time or other duties assigned
- The usual requirements in an office/classroom/etc. environment may require lifting boxes of supplies, equipment, and occasional adjustments of office furniture.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Employee regularly required to bend and stoop in the process of locating files.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Light travel occasional ability to travel for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the service area.
- Must be able to travel by air as needed to attend training, conferences, and related activities.
